About Department

The department of English is one of the oldest departments in the college. The department was established in 1973, ever since the establishment the department has been well-known for vibrant and scholarly activities. G.B. Sajjan, known as teachers teacher served in the department as the head for more than 10 years and Prof. S.M. Cholke also served for the betterment of the department. At present Mr. Basavaraj Yallur is the head of the department.The department has conducted Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Webinars. The department hosted many literary luminaries as distnigiuesd speakers such as David Crystal, Rajaneesh Dhawan, Prof. Sunsina Singh, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Nalanada University and many more.

The department is committed to develop English language proficiency skills among the rural students through effective teaching and learning based activities which are extremely helpful for students to enrich their competency in language and literature.
